Well it has been a while since I posted something here.

I have been dealing for over a year now with kidney stones in my left kidney.  I went through four procedures last year to remove stones, but unfortunately the doctor wasn't able to remove them all.

Now because of the stones still in there and the fact that the antibiotics they had me on can't kill the infection in my kidney, I have to have my left kidney removed on the 9th of this month.

I hope this finally ends this whole thing.  I may have to be on antibiotics for the rest of my life to protect my right kidney, which only has 70% function.

I a bit nervous and lets face it scared of what can happen in surgery.  Just the thought of having to have a transfusion makes me cringe.  You see, I have a compromised immune system; a blood disorder called IgA defincency.  Basicly it means I am more prone to getting colds and having them last longer then usual.  But if I need a transfusion, the blood has to be washed of that particular antibody or I will have an alergic reaction.

I am very comfortable with my Doctor and the hospital.  It is one of the best in New England and Massachusetts.

So if you don't here from me for a while (granted I don't check in as often as I would like), that is the reason.

You're welcome. I particularly like your answer in the forums on the forms of dress that Muslims wear. I, unlike a lot of Americans (not all, but it seems sometimes like a lot), view your religion as one of peace. I don't base my opinions just on what I see on TV. As a Pagan I can sympathize, although you probably have more trouble than I.

May this whole situation (war in Iraq, problems with Iran and North Korea and now Israel) find it's conclusion soon. I think that if everyone really met the other person they are against and really got to know them, wars wouldn't happen.

Blessed Be. Peace be upon you.

Your very welcome. I too am into everything medieval/historical. I wish I could make clothes like you, but alas not sewing machine or space to do so. So I content me self with purchasing. There is a catalog called The Pyramid Collection (www.pyramidcollection). I have bought some dresses from them. I could go broke buying all the things they have that I like. We have a medieval faire in MA every fall (King Richard's Faire in Carver). I go as much as I can.

Oooh a new "fun stuff" store. Thanks for the link. I've heard of King Richard's, but I've never made it out east.
